BETWEEN WEARING AND LIVING.
BIG CLOTHES LIKE A HOME.
SMALL HOME LIKE A CLOTHES.
LIVE IN A CLOTHES.
WEAR A HOME.
THE ANNUAL RING OF THE CLOTHES
PRESERVE THE MEMORY
WITH THE TIME LAYERED
CARVE OUT
THE TRACE OF THE ROLL
Where there is the light, the shadow appears.
Where there is the shadow,
the light exists.
It lights the clothes white.
It shadows the clothes black.
Shadow the light.
Light the shadow.
Even if the light disappears, let the shadow remain.
Even if the shadow disappears, let the light remain.
Spring and Summer,
Autumn and Winter.
Hot day and cold day.
Stay put on and go around season.
Welcome what comes and goes.
Large and Small
Where is the borderline of their division?
The answer transcends size.
Do people fit clothes or do clothes fit people?
Color changes.
Those with it, will fade away.
Those without, will bloom.
Does the clothes' color change.
Take off the color. Wear the color.
Peeling away skin, removing flesh.
Stripping away to the original form.
The bones.
The skeletal frame speaks for itself.
To dwell on the world,
a second before it disappears.
To remember the moment
the world is passing by.
Turning time into shape.
Past, present, future.
Wearing the passage of time.
SHELL OF THE FORM
BETWEEN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE
IT IS TO SEE WHAT IS IN BETWEEN
EVEN IF THE SHELL IS SHED
THE FORM CONTINUES TO REMAIN
TO SEE THE FORM
IT IS VAGUE AND UNKNOWN
BUT IT CONTINUES TO INFORM
EVEN IF IT CHANGES
IT REMAINS TO BE THE FORM
Seeing shapes.
Taking an inscrutable shape
and creating an unseen shape.
Shapes are constantly being expressed.
So even if a shape changes,
the fact that it’s a shape never changes.
Where to pinpoint length versus shortness
for body and sleeve lengths.
Where to pinpoint
wide versus narrow
for bust and waist.
Are there set standards
for every person’s body size
: long, short, wide, slim?
Questioning clothing size standards…
Without altering body size standards,
new fashion will never emerge.
SILHOUETTES EMERGED ON THE DOOR
T-SHIRT, JACKET, SKIRT AND PANTS
THESE SYMBOLIC SILHOUETTES
GET CONVERTED TO
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ITEMS
BEHIND THE DOOR
CONVERTING TWO DIMENSIONS
TO THREE DIMENSIONS,
SHOWING THE GAP
BETWEEN REAL AND UNREAL
IT IS TO FIND
THE SILHOUETTE AND THE FORM OF CLOTHES
LIGHT AND SHADOW DO NOT ALWAYS CORRESPOND WITH EACH OTHER
QUESTIONING THE DESIGN DRAWINGS
WITH ONLY THE FRONT STYLE
AND BACK STYLE DREW
ON PLANER SKETCHES,
WE USED A THREE-PLAN DRAWING
DESIGNING NOT ONLY
THE FRONT AND BACK SIDES
BUT ALSO LEFT AND RIGHT AND
TOP AND BOTTOM,
MADE THEM INTO THREE DIMENSIONS
FROM TWO DIMENSIONS
The theme is transforming symbols
into apparel using globes,
pyramids and cubes.
These garments,
modeled over three-dimensional forms,
transform into utterly new shapes
when they meet the human body.
I pursued the potential of
creating clothes based on the most basic geometric forms, ○△□.
Faraway spring, faraway spring.
I see pearls of
dew on lotus flowers,
faraway spring.
Alone, I contemplate
the soft rustling
of branches.
But even that fails to transport me back to spring.
I never get that feeling with the summer,
the mild autumn, the dry winters.
The branches that should be blooming with sakura petals…
If I sing they’ll pat my back.

Wake. Eat. Dress. Walk.
Reduplicate. Mistake. Express. Wait.
Circle. Cry. Discard. Forgive.
Betray. Avoid. Believe. Laugh.
Destroy. Hesitate. Contemplate. Create.
Pray. We can do the same tomorrow.
